High Dynamic Range
Dynamic range is the range of recordable light from the darkest to lightest on the exposed film that a scanner can read. The OpticFilm 120 Pro captures more detail in the light and dark areas of analog film. This delivers an effective usable Dynamic Range of 4.01 (using SilverFast Multi-Exposure/ according to ISO 21550:2004) and a theoretical maximum density of 4.8, providing accurate color and all highlight and shadow details.
Built-in Infrared Channel
Photographic film emulsions and dye layers are mostly transparent to infrared light. However, dust, scratches and other surface artifacts block infrared light. In conjunction with SilverFast iSRD, dust, scratches and artifacts are automatically removed and the need for tedious post processing is eliminated.
The lens calibration tool function enables users to manually calibrate the scanner optical module. This eliminates focus variations because of film flatness and slide mount variability.
16 bit per channel
OpticFilm 120 Pro generates 16 bit RAW scan data. This ensures a high dynamic range, detail reproduction and color accuracy. Capture your images with outstanding accuracy and preserve your precious memories.
Accurate colour reproduction
Colour management enables the OpticFilm 120 Pro to be used in a colour managed workflow and ensures the scanned images look exactly the same when printed and displayed. The OpticFilm 120 Pro is factory calibrated and also includes a 6x7 IT8 target for re-calibration if needed.
Three types of film holders (35mm film strip, 35mm slides, and 120 film strip) are recognized by the scanner automatically.
Redesigned Film Holders
The adjustable 120 film strip holders are now more flexible for both 6x6 and 6x7 film strips.
USB 3.0 connectivity
Data transfer speed is increased up to 80% over the OpticFilm 120.
The OpticFilm 120 Pro comes with the world recognized professional film scanning software, SilverFast Ai Studio 8, and its full functionality.
Software plays an important role to deliver a brilliant image. During the scanner development phase, LaserSoft Imaging, with its more than 30 years of experience in digital imaging, has significantly contributed to achieving the superior quality.
