CalDigit has solved this challenge and developed the USB-C HDMI Dock, a device that will adapt to any USB-C (Type-C) laptop it connects to. When connected to a Thunderbolt 3 laptop it offers full 40Gb/s performance, and when connected to a USB-C laptop it provides 10Gb/s performance in order to supply exactly what your laptop requires.3

As many PC manufacturers make it difficult to know what ports their laptops have, the USB-C HDMI Dock takes the guesswork out of choosing the right docking solution.
FAST LAPTOP CHARGING UP TO 94W
The USB-C HDMI Dock offers up to 94W laptop charging. This makes it an ideal solution for larger laptops such as the 16” MacBook Pro.
Whether you’re connected to a Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB-C laptop, the USB-C HDMI Dock will charge your laptop up to 94W.4
DUAL HDMI CONNECTIVITY BUILT-IN
The USB-C HDMI Dock has two built-in HDMI 2.0b connectors for directly connecting dual 4K 60Hz monitors in either “Extended” or “Mirrored” configurations to your Thunderbolt 3 laptop without the need for any USB-C video adapters. Apple M1 laptops can connect to a single external monitor, allowing you to expand your laptop’s built-in screen to one external “Extended” monitor.5
USB-C users can connect up to a single 4K 30Hz monitor, or up to dual 2K 30Hz monitors depending on the configuration, bandwidth, and DisplayPort version of their computer.

*Windows USB-C computers that feature a discrete GPU, and support for DP 1.4 over USB-C, are capable of outputting a single 4K 60Hz display or dual 4K 30Hz displays through the USB-C HDMI Dock.

The USB-C HDMI Dock is also compatible with non Type-C laptops, for added flexibility. If you have a laptop that has a USB-A port only, you can still take advantage of the USB-C HDMI Dock’s USB connectivity with some limited functionality.
Docking Station Utility
CalDigit offers a free software utility that makes it incredibly easy to disconnect all the external drives connected to the USB-C HDMI Dock with a single click.*
*Currently this docking utility is only available for macOS.
Stand Alone Charging
All USB-A ports on the USB-C HDMI Dock offer Stand Alone Charging functionality that allows the dock to charge USB devices, such as iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch up to 7.5W without the laptop connected.
SuperDrive
Many docks or hubs on the market are not capable of powering the Apple SuperDrive. This is because the SuperDrive requires a higher amount of power from the USB port, and in fact it’s recommended to connect it directly to the laptop’s USB port. CalDigit saw this as a challenge and developed a driver for the SuperDrive to work with the USB-C HDMI Dock.*
